A 30-year-old Miami resident is pursuing criminal charges after sustaining serious injuries during a violent dog attack in the Wynwood neighborhood Wednesday evening. The incident occurred near Northwest Second Avenue and 22nd Street while the man was jogging with his German shepherd, leaving both him and his pet requiring medical treatment.
According to the victim’s account, two unleashed pit bulls belonging to an unidentified owner attacked without warning as he ran through the area. The German shepherd was repeatedly bitten while the jogger fought to separate the animals, prompting him to immediately seek emergency assistance.
The situation escalated when the dog owner allegedly commanded the pit bulls to target the jogger himself. The suspect allegedly knocked the jogger unconscious and struck him with significant force before kicking away a bystander’s phone as the scene was being recorded on video.
Hospital examinations documented multiple fractures in the jogger’s body and possible surgical intervention ahead, while his German shepherd sustained a broken leg. Both victim and animal face ongoing medical complications and extended recovery periods, according to medical evaluations.
The jogger is demanding the suspect’s arrest and the impoundment of both pit bulls involved in the attack. Despite filing a police report, no arrests have been made, fueling his frustration and determination to pursue justice through the criminal justice system.
