Wynwood Jogger Seeks Justice After Brutal Attack by Man and Unleashed Dogs Leaves Him and Pet Severely Injured

A 30-year-old Miami resident is pushing for criminal charges after he and his dog suffered serious injuries during an altercation in the Wynwood neighborhood. The incident occurred near Northwest Second Avenue and 22nd Street on a Wednesday evening while Motlong was running with his pet German shepherd.

According to Motlong’s account, two unleashed pit bulls belonging to a stranger suddenly charged toward him and his dog. The attacking dogs bit his German shepherd repeatedly while she cried out in pain, prompting Motlong to attempt to separate the animals.

“When I saw the dogs run after my dog — all I could think about was saving her. That’s my baby. That’s my child,” Motlong stated in describing the harrowing moment.

After managing to pull the pit bulls away from his pet, Motlong began dialing 911 for emergency assistance. The situation escalated when the dogs’ owner allegedly commanded the animals to attack Motlong instead.

As Motlong fought to protect himself from the dogs, the man allegedly threw him to the ground and struck him with such force that he lost consciousness. Witness video footage captured on a bystander’s cellphone shows Motlong lying unconscious on the pavement while the suspect walks away and kicks the witness’s phone.

Hospital records document extensive injuries to both victim and pet. Motlong sustained multiple bone fractures and may require surgical intervention, while his German shepherd broke her leg in the attack.

“I just want to get justice for myself and my dog,” Motlong said, expressing frustration that despite filing a formal police report, no arrests have been made.

Motlong is demanding that law enforcement arrest the suspect and seize the two pit bulls. He characterized the situation as an injustice, noting that both he and his dog face potential long-term consequences from injuries sustained during an unprovoked incident.
