Authorities in Harris County, Texas responded Saturday to a reported active shooter at Deerbrook Mall in Humble, with at least one person suffering gunshot wounds and another individual taken into custody. Deputies from the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4 and officers from the Humble Police Department converged on the mall located at the 20100 block of U.S. Highway 59.
The constable’s office confirmed that one shooting victim had been reported and one suspect detained as law enforcement personnel remained at the scene conducting an ongoing investigation. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies were collaborating with partner agencies to secure the facility and protect the public.
Details regarding the severity of the victim’s injuries remained unavailable early in the investigation, and authorities had not indicated whether additional suspects were being sought. Scanner communications suggested officers were clearing the mall and evacuating retail stores, though officials have not formally disclosed these operational details.
