Rich Paul, chief executive of Klutch Sports and representative for both James family members, made clear that LeBron James’ move to Philadelphia does not automatically signal a shift for his son. Speaking to ESPN, Paul stated flatly: “They are not a package deal,” dismissing speculation that Bronny would follow his father to his new team.
LeBron James announced his decision to join the 76ers after his contract guarantee situation with the Lakers became certain in late June. The 41-year-old, four-time champion said his choice was driven solely by championship ambitions in what will mark his 24th NBA season. According to reports, no plans currently exist for Bronny to request a trade or join his father’s new organization.
Bronny’s future remains with Los Angeles, where he will continue his development under head coach J.J. Redick. The 19-year-old appeared in 42 games last season, averaging 2.9 points per game, a notable increase from his 27-game rookie campaign in 2024-25.
The Lakers will support Bronny’s growth alongside Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and several younger roster additions including Adou Thiero, Dalton Knecht, and offseason acquisitions like Walker Kessler and Quentin Grimes. The father-son pairing, the first in NBA history, achieved significance when they played in competitive games together this past season.
