Sheriff’s Office Releases Identifying Marks as Month-Long Search for Murder Suspect Continues

A month into their pursuit of a homicide suspect, law enforcement officials in Florida have disclosed fresh details designed to aid in capturing Isabelle Johnson, 38, who faces charges in connection with the death of Jason Coulthart, 43. The Walton County Sheriff’s Office cautioned that Johnson may have substantially altered her appearance through hair dye and cutting as she continues evading capture.

Coulthart’s remains were uncovered June 25 in a shallow grave on a property near Freeport, prompting the intensive search for Johnson. Investigators stress that several distinctive tattoos—including a rose or flower marking on her left hand below the thumb extending toward the index finger, an unidentified tattoo on her right ankle, and a large scorpion tattoo spanning from her left buttock down her left thigh—could prove instrumental in identifying her despite cosmetic changes.

Johnson has operated under multiple aliases including Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy, Harley, and possibly Denise. The sheriff’s office characterizes her as cunning and manipulative, warning that she may exploit sympathetic narratives about domestic violence to solicit transportation, money, or shelter from unsuspecting individuals.

Coutlhart went missing May 24 after leaving the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard in Niceville. His disappearance triggered an investigation that led authorities to execute a search warrant at a Freeport property, where his body was discovered and later identified through DNA analysis by the District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office.

Five individuals have been arrested as accessories to capital felony after the fact: Michael Ray White, Kathleen Morris, Bobbi Wagstaff, Martin Leaverton, and Sandra Leaverton. White allegedly provided Johnson assistance in eluding law enforcement, while Morris admitted supplying her with transportation and resources while misleading investigators.

Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson has warned potential accomplices that those providing shelter, concealment, or false statements face criminal liability. A reward totaling $16,000 remains available for information resulting in Johnson’s arrest, with investigators maintaining that they will continue pursuing every lead in the case.
