Fever Employee Fired for Sexual Harassment; Turner Says Team Discouraged Discussion

Brianna Turner, now with the Las Vegas Aces, disclosed on social media Wednesday that the Indiana Fever dismissed a male staff member for sexual harassment during the previous season. Turner, who played for Indiana at the time, further stated that team members were instructed to refrain from publicly discussing the termination.

The Fever issued a statement Thursday that sidestepped direct engagement with Turner’s allegations. The organization emphasized that safeguarding players and staff while maintaining professional standards ranks as a primary objective, though it declined to comment on specific personnel matters involving departed employees.

Turner’s posts on X came amid a broader discussion about transgender athletes in women’s sports. She contrasted the single out transgender player in the league—who she said created no problems—with what she characterized as a more serious workplace issue involving the dismissed male employee and the team’s silence policy.

The comments followed remarks by Cunningham, Turner’s former Fever teammate and a guard, who expressed concerns about biological males competing in women’s sports while emphasizing she harbored no animosity toward transgender individuals. Cunningham told ESPN this week that her priority involved protecting young female athletes.
