Suspect Surrenders After String of Vehicle Break-Ins in Miami-Dade County

Isaac Alexander Jiron, 23, surrendered to authorities early Wednesday and was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center after investigators linked him to a series of vehicle break-ins throughout Miami-Dade County. The investigation began around 2 a.m. on July 14 in the 7700 block of Northwest 200 Lane in the Country Club area of northwest Miami-Dade, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Surveillance footage captured Jiron attempting to force his way into two vehicles at a residential property by pulling on door handles, deputies said. Both vehicles were secured, preventing entry, but authorities allege Jiron proceeded to a neighboring residence where he successfully burglarized two parked vehicles on the property while the owners slept inside.

One of the burglarized vehicles contained approximately $14,000 that the owner had stored in the center console, according to arrest records. After being taken into custody and advised of his Miranda rights, Jiron declined to answer questions from detectives without legal representation present.

Jiron faces two counts each of burglary of an occupied dwelling, burglary of an occupied conveyance, and attempted burglary of an occupied conveyance, plus trespassing charges related to an unoccupied structure or conveyance. He is also charged with one count of third-degree grand theft involving a dwelling or curtilage. A Nebbia hold was placed on his case, requiring him to demonstrate that any bond funds originate from lawful sources before release.
