High school football rivalries are some of the best parts of the game, and Friday night brought another memorable one as Western took on Cypress Bay.The Lightning were looking for their first win over the Wildcats in 11 years.Western led 6-0 in the second quarter before Mason Mora added to the lead. Mora bounced off defenders and raced 52 yards for the touchdown, making it 12-0.Cypress Bay started to come back in the third quarter. Oomarion Beal aired it out to Zachary McKenzie for a touchdown, and the extra point made it a two-point game.The game went into overtime, with Western getting the ball first. The Wildcats went for it on fourth down, but Jack Saeder was picked off in the end zone.Cypress Bay was stopped on third down but went for the game-winning field goal. Nicolas Budejen knocked it through to give the Lightning the win.Cypress Bay improved to 6-0 with its first win over Western in 11 years.Chaminade also rolled to a win over St. Andrews.Clinton Jean-Pierre took the handoff and ran it in for a touchdown as the Lions got rolling.St. Andrews was able to move the ball early, but Keion Thomas came up with a nice pass breakup.Chaminade went on to win 48-3.
