Two police officers were shot Wednesday after gunfire rang out in downtown Minneapolis, officials said. Minneapolis police officers were at the scene of the shooting, which involved “multiple victims,” the city said, including the two law enforcement officers. The officers were shot in the shin and abdomen, sources told Fox News. Their conditions were unclear. The suspected shooter was down, sources said. The shooting triggered a large police presence. “My public safety team is responding to a shooting that took place downtown Minneapolis this afternoon,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz wrote on X. “State officials are on the ground to support local law enforcement and we will share more information as it becomes available.”In a subsequent post, Walz thanked law enforcement for “working to ensure the safety of our neighbors” in the area. “Minnesota is praying for our first responders,” he wrote. Agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) in nearby St. Paul were responding to the scene. This story is breaking. Please check back for updates.
