Seahawks Sign Cornerback Terrion Arnold, Who Faces Florida Felony Charges

The Seattle Seahawks completed the signing of cornerback Terrion Arnold on Saturday, though the 23-year-old will immediately be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list due to pending felony charges in Florida. Arnold cannot participate in practices or games while the league investigates his case, though he remains eligible to receive his salary and attend team meetings.

Arnold is accused of orchestrating the abduction and beating of three men in February after suspecting them of stealing $100,000 in cash and luxury goods. The charges include kidnapping, armed robbery, and conspiracy, with prosecutors identifying him as the “primary conspirator.” A Florida judge set his bail at $1 million.

The Detroit Lions released Arnold in June shortly after the charges were filed, making him a free agent. The Seahawks reached a tentative agreement with Arnold two weeks prior to the official signing. Head Coach Mike Macdonald acknowledged the seriousness of the legal situation while expressing the team’s willingness to allow the legal process to conclude before determining Arnold’s playing status.

Arnold’s defense attorney, R. Timothy Jansen, maintains that his client denies all allegations. Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, contended there is “no credible evidence” against Arnold and suggested accusers may be motivated by potential sentence reductions.

Since being drafted 24th overall by Detroit in 2024 from Florida State, Arnold has appeared in 25 NFL games including playoff contests. The Seahawks waived tackle Derrick Graham to create roster space for Arnold on their 90-man squad.
