The Miami Dolphins have completed a quarterback trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars after finishing their preseason slate, sources confirmed Friday. In the deal, Miami sends Quinn Ewers to Jacksonville in exchange for a 2028 sixth-round selection, according to reports from NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter.
Ewers, a seventh-round selection by the Dolphins in the 2025 NFL Draft, spent his college career with the Texas Longhorns before joining Miami. During his time with the Fins last season, the signal-caller appeared in four games, accumulating 622 passing yards while throwing three touchdowns and three interceptions with a QBR rating of 32.8.
The Dolphins concluded their preseason with a 0-3 record after falling to the Atlanta Falcons 17-12 on Friday. Miami will open its regular season against the Las Vegas Raiders on September 13 in a Week 1 matchup.
