The Indiana Fever secured a decisive 111-91 victory over the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday, the final contest before the WNBA halts its season for players competing in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup. The win marked Indiana’s 19th game of the season surpassing the century mark in scoring, a new franchise record. The Fever maintained their winning form following a dominant 113-90 performance against Chicago on Sunday.

Connecticut mounted an early challenge, establishing a 28-19 advantage after the opening quarter despite playing on the road. The Sun, seeking their 11th victory of an inconsistent campaign, appeared poised for an upset before Indiana responded with overwhelming force. The Fever erupted in the second quarter, outscoring the visitors 39-15 to assume control at halftime with a 58-43 lead.

Caitlin Clark recorded 34 points and 12 assists for Indiana, while teammate Kelsey Mitchell added 34 points of her own. The two stars have now combined for four games this season where both scored 30 or more points, extending the WNBA record for such performances by teammates in a single season. Mitchell’s output moved her into the league scoring lead.

Indiana has four regular-season games remaining before play resumes on September 18 with a road matchup against Toronto. The FIBA World Cup break will provide the league with a two-week pause as international competition takes center stage.
