The Pokémon Company and Disney have finalized a worldwide licensing agreement that will bring multiple titles to the Disney+ streaming platform and Disney XD channel. The deal encompasses both newly produced original content and established fan-favorite programs from the franchise’s extensive catalog.

Among the new offerings is “Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu,” a stop-motion animated series produced by Aardman Studios set to premiere in 2027. The series will mark a stylistic departure from the franchise’s traditional animation approach, introducing audiences to fresh storytelling centered on the characters Sirfetch’d and Pichu.

The agreement also includes distribution rights to “Pokémon the Series: The Beginning,” the foundational episodes that launched the anime franchise decades ago. Both properties will be available across Disney’s streaming and linear television platforms as part of the global licensing arrangement.

This partnership represents a significant expansion of Pokémon’s media presence and reinforces Disney’s commitment to securing premium animated content for its entertainment ecosystem. The deal positions Disney as a central hub for Pokémon programming across multiple demographics and viewing platforms worldwide.
