Authorities in Miami-Dade County have taken a 37-year-old man into custody in connection with an indecent exposure incident that occurred at a Ross Dress for Less store in early August. Sean Edward Uribe of southwest Miami-Dade was arrested Monday on battery charges stemming from the August 14 incident at the retail location on Southwest 137th Avenue and Miller Drive, according to an arrest report released by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office on Friday.
A store employee witnessed Uribe engaging in lewd behavior inside the establishment, observing him manipulate himself through his clothing while walking through the store. The witness subsequently saw Uribe position himself directly behind another employee working in an aisle, with his hands positioned near his genital area while in a state of sexual arousal.
According to the arrest report, the witness observed Uribe spray an unknown liquid substance onto the victim’s clothing as he departed the area. Upon investigation, the affected employee’s shirt and pants bore residue of a cloudy, sticky substance of unknown origin, the report indicated.
Detectives identified Uribe through surveillance footage and cross-referenced his appearance with prior knowledge of his behavior patterns. A records check revealed two previous battery convictions in Miami-Dade County. The witness confirmed Uribe’s identity from a photo lineup on August 19.
Uribe was held at the Metrowest Detention Center as of Friday morning pending bond determination. He faces additional charges including probation violation, as he was on probation at the time of arrest for battery and attempting to tamper with physical evidence. Uribe exercised his right to remain silent during questioning.
