Surveillance Video Evidence Emerges in Josh Jacobs Domestic Violence Case

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was charged Thursday with one count of misdemeanor battery and one count of criminal damage to property following an alleged domestic incident. District Attorney David L. Lasee revealed that authorities obtained surveillance footage from a garage camera at Jacobs’ Hobart, Wisconsin residence that corroborates key portions of the complaint against the player.

According to the District Attorney’s incident report, the alleged victim told police that Jacobs grabbed her and threw her to the ground as she attempted to exit the garage on May 23, 2026, between 8:30 a.m. and 8:38 a.m., causing her to strike her head. The report further states that Jacobs took her phone while she remained on the garage floor and approximately 40 seconds later returned to the garage and damaged the phone.

Investigators initially conducted on-scene interviews before uncovering the security camera system. A digital forensic examination conducted by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office recovered video files from the surveillance system, a process that took several weeks and culminated in final verification on July 21, 2026. The recovered footage shows both parties departing and returning to the residence in separate vehicles, along with their actions within the garage.

Jacobs turned himself in to police on May 26, three days after the alleged incident. The video evidence significantly alters the legal landscape for the running back, as NFL policy traditionally imposes substantial discipline in cases involving documented domestic violence, including potential placement on the commissioner’s exempt list.

The Packers issued a brief statement acknowledging the charges and confirming cooperation with the NFL’s ongoing investigation. The league is currently reviewing the matter and may impose disciplinary action under its Personal Conduct Policy against the player.
