Ernest Germain Flowers and Evan Germain Flowers, both 22, have been charged with multiple felonies following allegations that they fired paintball rounds at least two victims in the unincorporated Naranja area of Miami-Dade County in mid-August. The twins were released on bond pending trial in connection with a 2022 attempted murder shooting at a Dadeland Mall parking garage, when they were 18 years old.

On August 18 at approximately 4:30 p.m., Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a paintball shooting at Naranja Lakes Park, located at 14401 SW 272nd St., where they found a woman with multiple significant injuries to her leg requiring treatment from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Shortly after, authorities received a second report of a man struck by paintball rounds while sitting at a bus bench near Southwest 264th Street and South Dixie Highway.

Both victims reported that suspects emerged from a silver SUV and opened fire on them, according to deputies. Law enforcement used surveillance footage and investigative techniques to identify a license plate, a possible residence, and persons of interest. The woman subsequently identified Ernest Flowers as the shooter from a photo lineup.

Authorities arrested both brothers on Wednesday and charged them with felony battery, misdemeanor battery, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Investigators indicated the pair may be suspects in multiple similar incidents. The brothers were booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with bonds set at $12,001 each, though a judge ordered them held pending a division court appearance.
