A triathlete coach in South Carolina made headlines after surviving an alligator attack in the Savannah River during a training session. Jonathan, who was bitten and pulled underwater, fought off the animal by punching it and poking its eyes before swimming to safety and receiving emergency medical treatment.

The coach has since returned to his training regimen with remarkable speed, completing an eight-mile run the day after his discharge and a 41-mile bike ride shortly thereafter. He plans to compete in the Augusta 70.3 Ironman in September and the full Ironman California competition in October, expressing gratitude to first responders and medical professionals.
