Video footage from the Lindsay Clancy murder trial has captured widespread attention after a courtroom spectator appeared to smile and wink directly at a livestream camera during recent proceedings. The woman, identified as Brittany Romano, a New York City-based journalist who writes for publications including Elle, Cosmopolitan, and Teen Vogue, was visible in the background as attendees were instructed to stand. Her apparent gesture toward the camera has since circulated across social media platforms.
Romano has been actively following the case through her social media accounts and was recently photographed with Clancy’s defense attorney Kevin Reddington, sharing the image on social media. When questioned about her courtroom conduct in a video posted online, she explained that she was laughing because she knew Clancy from her childhood. She has since defended her actions, stating in a now-deleted social media post that she was proud of herself amid what she characterized as hostile online responses.
Clancy, a Massachusetts mother, faces murder charges in connection with the 2023 deaths of her three young children in her Duxbury home. Her defense team argues she was suffering from undiagnosed postpartum psychosis when the killings occurred, though she has not contested the charges themselves. Fox News Digital said it has requested comment from both the court and Romano regarding the incident.
