Benjamin Charles Parker, 36, was identified as the primary suspect in a quintuple homicide after authorities discovered five bodies Saturday at a residence in a rural community near Forest Grove, Oregon, approximately 25 miles west of Portland. The following day, law enforcement located Parker deceased inside a vehicle in Enumclaw, Washington, in what authorities believe was a suicide, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Officers from the Enumclaw Police Department discovered Parker’s vehicle and found him dead inside after investigators determined he was in the area. The Enumclaw Police Department also reported locating an unidentified individual found dead behind a Safeway grocery store in connection with the Forest Grove investigation.
The initial discovery came early Saturday when the sheriff’s office responded to reports of a vehicle fire at the Forest Grove property. Responders found the remains of five people and several domestic animals at the scene, though authorities have not disclosed victim identities, ages, genders, or cause of death.
Detective Shannon Wilde noted the investigation’s complexity, stating that managing a crime scene of this magnitude presents significant logistical challenges. Sheriff Caprice Massey stated in her 22 years in the position, she had not encountered an investigation of comparable intricacy.
Detectives have determined the killings were not random, though they have not publicly disclosed Parker’s connection to the victims or a potential motive. Authorities have made no statement indicating any ongoing threat to the public.
Approximately a dozen law enforcement agencies participated in the investigation, which remains ongoing. Anyone with information about the property or its residents is urged to contact authorities.
