Broward Fire Rescue responded to a residential structure fire Saturday morning in the unincorporated Fort Lauderdale area near the 600 block of Northwest 24th Avenue. The blaze displaced seven residents along with two cats from the home, according to Battalion Chief Michael Kane, a department spokesman.
Firefighters arriving at the scene discovered smoke and flames emanating from a second-floor room positioned at the rear of the residence. Crews immediately initiated what Kane described as an “aggressive interior attack,” successfully confining the flames to a single room within the structure.
Firefighters extinguished the fire approximately 15 minutes after arriving on scene. No injuries were sustained in the incident, Kane confirmed, though authorities have referred the investigation into the fire’s origin to the Florida State Fire Marshal’s Office.
