South Florida residents should prepare for another sweltering day Friday, with overnight lows already reaching the mid-80s and heat indices climbing into the 90s before sunrise. The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory effective from 11 a.m. through 6 p.m., as actual high temperatures in the lower 90s will combine with humidity to produce dangerous heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees.

Afternoon and early evening hours will bring relief from the oppressive heat as sea breezes trigger scattered showers and thunderstorms across the region after midday. Residents are encouraged to have rain gear handy and monitor Local 10 News for updated forecasts and weather warnings throughout the day.
