Angel Reese delivered a flawless offensive performance Thursday night, connecting on all nine of her field-goal attempts as the Atlanta Dream routed the Los Angeles Sparks 124-88. The standout effort came after Reese had endured recent struggles with her shooting accuracy, making the perfect night all the more impressive.
Reese finished with 20 points while also collecting 10 rebounds and eight assists for her WNBA-leading 25th double-double of the season. She connected on two 3-pointers during her pristine shooting display and set a Dream franchise record for field goals attempted without a miss. Her performance marked only the third time in WNBA history that a player has recorded a 20-point double-double on perfect shooting efficiency.
The Dream’s dominant victory also featured a franchise record for total points in a single game. Rhyne Howard contributed 26 points and five 3-pointers for Atlanta, which improved to 23-13 and extended its winning streak against Los Angeles to eight consecutive games. Naz Hillmon and Allisha Gray added 14 and 13 points respectively.
Los Angeles, now 12-24, was eliminated from playoff contention in the loss. Cameron Brink led the Sparks bench with 14 points, while Rae Burrell contributed 12 and Nneka Ogwumike scored 11. The Dream’s dominance was evident as they built a 42-point lead and surpassed 100 points with 8:10 remaining in regulation.
The Dream travel to Phoenix on Saturday, while the Sparks host Connecticut the same evening.
