A powerful storm system swept through Nassau County, prompting local officials to issue a formal emergency declaration in response to widespread damage across the area. The severe weather event also produced a waterspout, adding to the meteorological hazards residents faced during the system’s passage.
First responders assessed significant structural damage at the Sun & Surf Beach Club in Atlantic Beach, where the storm destroyed or severely damaged approximately 30 single-story cabanas on the resort’s property.
