New Orleans Saints rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner became the center of attention during a joint training camp practice with the Dallas Cowboys this week when he engaged in a heated altercation that featured professional wrestling techniques. Rechsteiner, whose father Scott Steiner is a WWE Hall of Famer and uncle Rick Steiner is a legendary wrestler, displayed German suplexes and other grappling moves against his opponents during the melee.

The display caught the attention of Pat McAfee, the former WWE commentator who previously worked alongside Michael Cole. McAfee, who departed his WWE role following Randy Orton’s loss to Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42 earlier this year, promptly endorsed Rechsteiner’s potential in professional wrestling on his show Wednesday.

“This is Scott Steiner’s boy doing Rick Steiner’s German suplex and three, two and one, boom! He needs to just head to NXT right now and join Bron (Breakker) as the Steiner Brothers could return in this whole thing,” McAfee said during his broadcast.

Rechsteiner’s cousin Bron Breakker, considered one of WWE’s fastest-rising stars, is scheduled to face Oba Femi at Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6. The Steiner family connection has generated intrigue about a potential reunion of the legendary tag team within WWE’s ranks.

The former Jacksonville State receiver now faces a six-game NFL suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. Over his college career from 2023 to 2025, Rechsteiner recorded 53 receptions for 629 yards and seven touchdowns, including 36 catches for 383 yards and five scores in his final season with the Gamecocks.

Rechsteiner initially signed with the Tennessee Titans as an undrafted free agent before being acquired by New Orleans. His brother Brandon, a former Colorado State Rams basketball guard who averaged 12 points per game during the 2025-26 season, recently announced a transfer to Kansas State after previously signing WWE NIL deals alongside his brother.
