North Miami police are actively investigating a stabbing incident that occurred Wednesday near the North Miami Library at 835 NE 132nd St., directly across from North Miami Senior High School. A 16-year-old male sustained a knife wound to the arm after an altercation escalated in the library’s parking lot, according to police and eyewitness accounts.
The confrontation involved two teenagers who reportedly knew each other prior to the incident. During the fight in the parking lot, one teen produced a knife and stabbed the other, authorities said. Officers cordoned off the library parking lot as they gathered evidence and conducted interviews with witnesses present at the scene.
The injured teenager was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries determined to be non-life-threatening. As of Wednesday evening, police had not apprehended the suspect responsible for the stabbing. North Miami police stated their investigation was continuing and ongoing.
