President Donald Trump will head to Nassau County, New York, on Friday alongside Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel for a police rally at the Nassau County Police Academy. The 89,000-square-foot training and intelligence facility on Long Island will host the event, where Trump plans to highlight what his administration characterizes as the largest year-over-year decrease in violent crime since the FBI began tracking statistics in 1936.
According to FBI data set for release in the 2025 Crime Statistics Report, murders fell by an estimated 18.1% while robberies declined 18.5%, rapes dropped 7.6% and aggravated assaults decreased 7.2%. Additional property crimes saw similarly significant reductions, with burglaries down 15.8%, larceny down 9.8% and motor vehicle theft down 22.7% compared to the previous year.
White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis told Fox News Digital that Trump will use the appearance to underscore his administration’s law-and-order agenda. “President Trump promised to make America safe again and the data proves he has done just that,” Bis said, contrasting the president’s approach with what she characterized as the Democratic push to defund police departments.
The visit coincides with the one-year anniversary of Trump’s deployment of National Guard forces to Washington, D.C., an initiative dubbed Safe and Beautiful aimed at reducing crime in the nation’s capital. Patel said the efforts yielded 6,000 arrests, nearly 2,000 drug seizures and over 1,300 illegal firearm seizures over the 12-month period, with federal resources remaining in place indefinitely.
