A Powerball lottery drawing on Wednesday night produced a jackpot winner in Illinois and a significant prize winner in Florida. The winning ticket for the $1.04 billion grand prize was purchased at a Hy-Vee Gas station in Quincy, Illinois, marking the largest jackpot awarded since the previous year, lottery officials confirmed.
The winning combination drawn Wednesday included the numbers 4, 26, 66, 67, and 69, with a Powerball value of 9. The Illinois winner has the option of receiving the prize through annual installments or accepting a lump-sum payment valued at approximately $433 million before applicable taxes. The jackpot winner’s identity has not been disclosed.
A separate winning ticket sold at a Circle K location in Lakeland, Florida, matched all five white-ball numbers and earned a $1 million prize. The result reflects strong ticket sales across South Florida as residents pursued the record-breaking jackpot.
Powerball recently expanded its reach to include players from the United Kingdom, broadening the international participation in the game.
