Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce reflected on his early-July nuptials to Taylor Swift during Wednesday’s training camp, describing the Madison Square Garden ceremony as transformative. The 36-year-old told reporters that the wedding represented “the best night of my life” and expressed gratitude to the approximately 1,000 guests who attended the star-studded celebration on July 3.
The event drew an impressive roster of celebrity attendees spanning entertainment and sports, including Adam Sandler, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, Emma Stone, George Clooney, and Bradley Cooper. From the NFL, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany were present, along with Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and basketball player Caitlin Clark. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid also attended and subsequently joked about the considerable amount of dancing that evening.
Swift’s brother Austin served as her “Man of Honor,” while Kelce’s older brother Jason held the role of “Best Man,” marking a departure from traditional wedding party structures. Neither the bride nor groom included conventional bridesmaids or groomsmen in the ceremony, according to statements shared with People magazine.
The relationship between Swift and Kelce began after the tight end discussed his admiration for her on his “New Heights” podcast in July 2023. Swift later confirmed to Time magazine that they spent significant time together before being publicly photographed at her first Chiefs game, allowing them to establish a connection away from media scrutiny.
The couple announced their engagement in late August 2025, shortly after Swift appeared as a guest on the “New Heights” podcast with the Kelce brothers. Swift posted engagement photos on Instagram with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Kelce, an 11-time Pro Bowl selection, is entering his 14th NFL season. He previously ended speculation about retirement before the 2026 campaign began. During the 2025 season, he recorded 76 receptions for 851 yards and five touchdowns in a full 17-game slate, though the Chiefs missed the playoffs.
