Cowboys Lock in Quinnen Williams With $105.9M Extension Through 2030

The Dallas Cowboys have secured defensive tackle Quinnen Williams with a three-year contract extension worth $105.9 million that will keep him with the franchise through the 2030 season. The deal includes $101 million in guaranteed money, with $63.35 million guaranteed at the time of signing and a $31.85 million signing bonus, positioning Williams among the league’s highest-compensated players at his position.

Williams, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, joined Dallas midseason last year after the Cowboys acquired him from the New York Jets in a significant trade deadline deal. The Jets received a second-round pick in 2026, a first-round pick in 2027, and defensive tackle Mazi Smith in exchange for the star defender.

The transaction represents a notable shift for New York, which signed Williams to a four-year extension worth $96 million with $66 million guaranteed just two years prior in 2023. The Jets’ decision to trade away both Williams and cornerback Sauce Gardner to Indianapolis underscored their rebuilding efforts during another disappointing season.

Williams becomes the fourth defensive tackle to secure an average annual value exceeding $30 million, joining Philadelphia’s Jalen Carter, Tennessee’s Jeffery Simmons, and Kansas City’s Chris Jones. The Cowboys have made defense a financial priority, also committing to a four-year, $80 million extension for fellow defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa.

Dallas has aggressively retooled its defensive roster, acquiring Kenny Clark from Green Bay in a trade involving Micah Parsons and signing free agent Rashan Gary, the former Packers pass rusher. In seven games with the Cowboys last season, Williams recorded 21 combined tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, and nine quarterback hits.
