Two brothers, ages 7 and 4, gained access to their parents’ vehicle while family members slept in Oakland, setting off a chain of events that ended in a serious collision. The children lost control of the car during the unauthorized drive, striking a woman who was walking her dog in the area.
The pedestrian sustained critical injuries in the impact and was transported for emergency medical treatment. Her dog was also struck during the incident. The exact circumstances surrounding how the children operated the vehicle remain under investigation by local authorities.
