A mass shooting in Prospect Hill, North Carolina claimed multiple lives and sent at least one person to the hospital, according to law enforcement officials. The incident unfolded on Brooks Road in the Caswell County community during the early morning hours, prompting a response from state investigators and local authorities.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office called in the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation to assist with the investigation. Officials responding to the scene included Caswell County deputies and North Carolina State Highway Patrol units, who arrived shortly after the shooting occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m.
A Caswell County official confirmed to WGHP that the incident appears to be isolated in nature. No suspect has been apprehended or identified as of the latest reports, though authorities indicated the general public faces no immediate danger from the shooting.
