A wildfire burning in vegetation near U.S. 41 in the Everglades forced authorities to temporarily shut down the highway in both directions Sunday afternoon. The blaze also triggered a precautionary evacuation of Everglades Safari Park as a safety measure while emergency responders worked to contain the flames.
