Levis Exudes Confidence in Titans Comeback Bid Despite Third-String Role

Will Levis is projecting supreme self-assurance as he prepares for the upcoming NFL season with the Tennessee Titans, despite not taking a competitive snap since January 2025. The quarterback faces an uphill climb on the depth chart, likely to start training camp as third on the roster behind Cam Ward and veteran Mitchell Trubisky. Yet Levis remains unbowed about his prospects and his ultimate potential as a starting signal-caller in professional football.

“There are not 32 quarterbacks in this league better than me. I know that for sure,” Levis told reporters Saturday in Nashville. The former Kentucky product, who has started 21 games for the franchise, pointed to his previous tape as evidence of his capability. “I know I’ve put the tape out there already that I’m a dang good quarterback in this league,” he added.

Levis’s actual starting record tells a different story, however. His tenure as the Titans’ starter produced just five victories against 16 defeats, along with 21 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions. He also fumbled the ball 17 times during that span, a troubling figure that reflected difficulties beyond his control given Tennessee’s roster limitations.

The 27-year-old underwent shoulder surgery last July and spent the entire 2025 season recovering on injured reserve. Levis remains confident he will seize opportunities when presented with them, expressing faith in his preparation and readiness. As a pending free agent after the 2026 season, his immediate focus involves competing with Trubisky for backup duties as the Titans prepare for the new campaign.
