Miami Fire Rescue responded to a boating emergency in the Brickell neighborhood Saturday, transporting four individuals to HCA Florida Mercy Hospital after a mechanical malfunction aboard the vessel. The incident unfolded near Southeast Fifth Street, prompting first responders to mobilize medical personnel to the scene.
All four patients arrived at the hospital in stable condition, according to Miami Fire Rescue officials. Additional people present at the location received medical evaluations from first responders, though none required hospital admission.
Crew members aboard the vessel attributed the incident to mechanical problems with the boat’s systems. The operators stated that no collision with another vessel occurred during the emergency, and passengers requested medical assistance following the mechanical failure.
Fire rescue officials released no additional information about the specific nature of the mechanical issue or the identities of those hospitalized.
