Caitlin Clark produced a fourth career triple-double Friday night, finishing with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Indiana Fever to a 112-98 victory over the Portland Fire. The win marked the Fever’s fifth consecutive triumph and extended their strong recent form to nine wins in their last 11 games.
Kelsey Mitchell matched Clark’s offensive output with 26 points of her own for Indiana, which improved to 19-10. The Fever continued a streak of scoring at least 100 points in five straight contests. Portland, dropping to 11-18, has now lost four games in succession, with Bridget Carleton leading the Fire with 26 points.
Indiana dominated the third quarter to seize control of the game, building an 18-point cushion and taking a 90-72 lead into the final frame. Portland mounted a fourth-quarter comeback attempt, narrowing the deficit to five points on a Carleton three-pointer with 4:08 remaining, but the Fever sealed the win with late free throws from Clark.
A record crowd of 19,959 attended the game at the Moda Center in Portland. Indiana hosts Minnesota on Sunday, while Portland welcomes Los Angeles to conclude the weekend slate.
