A Heat Advisory takes effect at 11 a.m. across Broward and Miami-Dade counties as dangerously hot conditions settle over South Florida on the final day of July. Forecasters predict high temperatures in the mid-90s, with the potential to match or exceed existing heat records in both major population centers.
Miami is expected to reach 95 degrees, matching the record temperature established in 1999, while Fort Lauderdale may also climb to 95 degrees—just one degree below the 96-degree record set in 1986. The combination of intense heat and elevated humidity poses significant health risks for residents in the affected areas.
Moisture-laden conditions moving into the region will increase the likelihood of scattered showers and thunderstorms beginning this afternoon and continuing into the evening hours. Saturday’s westerly winds may concentrate precipitation activity along the eastern coastal areas, but a shift toward easterly flow on Sunday is expected to redirect heavier rain chances inland and westward across the region.
