The Humane Society of Broward County currently houses roughly 20 puppies available for adoption, according to shelter officials. Among them are two 9-week-old littermates, Roxy and Rusty, who are already demonstrating distinct personalities and playful behavior. Staff members emphasize that prospective families must be prepared to dedicate significant time to training, exercise and socialization for these young animals.

Beyond the younger dogs, the facility also has adult animals in need of placement. Mia, one such resident, came to the shelter after her owner’s death left her family unable to provide ongoing care. Shelter workers report that Mia is sociable with people, compatible with other dogs and entertains herself with squeaky toys.

The facility is located at 2070 Griffin Road, situated one block west of Interstate 95. Adoption kennels open at 11 a.m. daily for interested adopters. Those wishing to streamline the adoption process can complete preliminary paperwork through the organization’s website at humanebroward.com before visiting in person.
